Greenwich Symphony Conductor to lead the Young Artists Philharmonic

Greenwich, Connecticut (January 18, 2018) – The Young Artists Philharmonic is pleased to announce the appointment of Tara Simoncic as Guest Conductor for its Winter concert, which takes place March 18 at Yale University’s School of Music in New Haven. Maestro Simoncic is in her fourth season as the Music Director of the Greenwich Symphony’s Young People’s Concerts, which bring classical music to thousands of students in the Greenwich public and private schools each year. Comfortable in all genres, Ms. Simoncic frequently works with symphony, opera, and ballet companies in the U.S. and abroad, and recently finished a successful performance of The Nutcracker with New York City Ballet.

“We are so thrilled to have Tara as our guest conductor for the winter season. Not only does she have a global classical footprint, but Tara is a very familiar face to young and aspiring musicians here in Greenwich. Her mentorship of young musicians is very well known in the area and we are so excited to have her work with our students,”  says YAP Executive Director Greg Robbins.

Mary Radcliffe, President of the Greenwich Symphony offered similar praise: “Tara has an exceptional gift in communicating with young people – she is vibrant,  she guides children to really listen to the music,  and to enjoy and react to what they are hearing. Music is a wonderful gift, and can open the doors to a lifetime of artistic appreciation.”
