Support our Annual Appeal

December 15, 2017

Dear Supporters and Friends of the Orchestra,

This season the Young Artists Philharmonic celebrates its 58th year of educating, enriching and inspiring young people using the transformative power and beauty of music. We continue to dedicate ourselves to helping the students in our three orchestras perfect their musical skills, learn the value of teamwork, gain confidence through performing, and realize the unparalleled joy of music-making.

In the 2016/17 program year, the YAP welcomed 40 new young musicians from cities and towns throughout Connecticut and New York.  Our fall concert was a triumphant success with families and friends filling the stunning and acoustically excellent concert hall at the Greenwich High School.  The sounds of Beethoven, Brahms, and Mozart filled the hall and brought smiles to all. Our Holiday Concert on December 9th marked the beginning of a new collaboration with the 50 member choir of Christ Church Greenwich. The combination of voices and orchestra made for a joyous and uplifting celebration.

We are excited to announce that we will be taking the orchestra to Rome this summer for an experience that will be truly unforgettable.  Our YAP musicians will perform concerts at Piazza Navona, and visit major cultural sites such as the Vatican, Colosseum, and Pompeii.

We are also excited to tell you that once again, during the 2018/19 program year, we are planning to take our young musicians back to Carnegie Hall!   Our concert at the world-famous concert hall in 2016 not only inspired our musicians and thrilled their families, but it enabled us to significantly increase the size our three orchestras.  We expect nothing less in 2018/19.

While we look ahead to these exciting new initiatives, we also note the passing of our beloved founder, Sal Princiotti. Sal’s imprint on YAP and on our greater musical community is indelible – he connected with students to ignite their artistic imagination and gave them the confidence and desire to carry their musical gifts with them throughout their lives. It is with great reverence for his legacy that we continue to grow the organization that was so close to his heart.

This year, we need your help more than ever to continue to provide scholarships to all deserving young musicians, enhance our programming, and pave the way towards enabling all of our musicians to join us at Carnegie Hall in 2018/19. Please help us keep this organization as vital today as it has been over the past half century by donating to the Young Artists Philharmonic. Fulfilling our mission depends on the generosity of supporters like you.

We thank you in advance for your donation. Please refer to the donation form to the right for contribution options.
