To our community: In light of Covid-19 and given that the First Congregational Church of Greenwich is not available for rehearsal in fall 2020, we have decided to split the 2020/21 season into two parts, with the first part being an online music education program to run from September 27 through November 22. The second part will take place in person starting in January 2021, pending additional health and safety guidance from the state.
We are proud to announce that the online portion of season will be completely free of charge. The sessions will be held via Zoom on Sunday evenings and will start at 5:00 pm for all ensembles, and their length will depend on the age group. For detailed information about the new program, please visit this link.
Greg Robbins, former YAP executive director and conductor, will manage this online music education program as Director of online education. The online courses are available for all groups, and feature a robust combination of seminars and guided sectional rehearsals taught by YAP conductors and guest artists. Students will also take part in weekly virtual sectional rehearsals, which will culminate in a final live streamed event in November. We will be providing additional information about the program ahead of its official announcement later this month.
